Men’s Cross Country Finishes Third at HVMAC Championships

NEW YORK, NY – The Yeshiva men's cross country team placed 3rd at this weekend's Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference Championships held at Purchase College.  David Sweet was the Maccabees' top runner, placing 4th overall in the field of 45 runners.

 

With an 8k time of 30:28, Sweet has been the best runner for the men this year, placing at the top amongst his team in each race.  Also earning a top-20 medal were Aryeh Shapiro with an 11thth place finish (35:26).  Yehuda Prero finished just outside the top 20, with a 22nd place finish in 36:04. place finish (31:53) and Joel Dvorim with a 19

 

With a team score of 71 (finishes of 4, 9, 16, 18, 24), the Maccabees placed third behind Cooper Union (34) and Albany College of Pharmacy (53).  Behind Yeshiva were Culinary Institute of America (72), St. Joseph's Brooklyn (135), Pratt Institute (INC), and Sarah Lawrence College (INC). 

 

The men will be back in action at the Skyline Conference Championships this coming Sunday, at Van Cortlandt Park.  The 8k race will begin at 1:00 pm for the men.
