Abigail Smolensky Named to HVWAC Volleyball All-Conference Team

NEW YORK, NY - Abigail Smolensky, a senior middle blocker for the Maccabees, has been named to the 2009 Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) All-Conference volleyball team. Going into the season’s final match, the team stands at 3-13 overall, making it to the Conference Quarterfinals last week.
With one game remaining, Smolensky leads the team in blocks this season with 9. She was second in kills (43) and kills per game (.90). She also has 14 aces and 72 digs.
The Maccabees play their final contest tonight at Maritime College, a team they beat once this season 3-1. Yeshiva is coming off a tough loss in the Quarterfinals against Pratt Institute
