Martin Leibovich Named Skyline Player of the Week

NEW YORK, NY – The Skyline Conference announced yesterday that senior guard Martin Leibovich has been selected as the Player of the Week. Martin averaged 21 points and 10.5 rebounds in two games last week, both wins over Farmingdale and St. Joseph’s.
In Tuesday’s game against Farmingdale, the Macs battled for a double overtime 88-80 victory. Martin scored 25 points, pulled down 14 rebounds, and had 5 assists in the victory, which was the first for any Yeshiva team since 2004. Later in the week, Martin spearheaded a 64-60 win over St. Joseph’s with 17 points and 7 rebounds. The win was the first for Yeshiva since 2005.
Martin Leibovich is currently 7th in the conference in scoring with 14.9 points per game. He is tied for 6th in rebounds with 7.6 per game.
The Macs will host Purchase tonight at 8PM. Yeshiva went to Purchase for the first game of the season, and came out with a 61-55 win. The Panthers come into tonight’s game at 14-7 (11-5).
